Why interested in promoting wealth creation:
It’s
the better alternative to poverty. Want to promote
financial literacy and empowerment so that we,
too, can become wealthy and enjoy a higher standard
of living.
Any other interest:
To encourage the Diaspora
to become the best that we can be individually
and collectively. Marcus Aurelius said a thousand
years ago that “a
man’s life is what his thoughts make it” I
want to help coax the Diaspora to change our
way of thinking so that, together, we can change
the quality of our lives
What drives me?:
I want to make my contribution
to the Diaspora ‘before
I go’

Books read recently:
The Story of the Jamaican
People; Stocks For The Long Run
People who influenced me most:
My Mother, Late
Primary School Headmaster “Teacher” H.N.
Fletcher & Hometown Tailor cum Guidance Counselor,
late Clarence Easy
People I most admire:
Those who create something
where nothing existed before
Person I would most like to meet:
Nelson Rolihlahla
Mandela (for ‘living’ the
courage of his conviction)
My greatest hope:
That our young bright students
will break, and throw away the mold that ‘shaped’ us
primarily into consumers and blaze new trails
in science, technology and entrepreneurship so
that our children, grandchildren and others yet
unborn will experience a mighty renaissance in
our standard of living
My greatest fear:
That, against background of
a highly unschooled populace, our politicians
will keep focusing only on winning every five
years through the manipulation of scare benefits
and spoils instead of on economic independence
for our peoples and region
My favourite admonition:
Courtesy the late great
Dr Benjamin Mays, Morehouse College, Atlanta,
Georgia, USA; “It must
be borne in mind that the tragedy of life does
not lie in not reaching your goal. The tragedy
lies in having no goal to reach. It isn’t
a calamity to die with dreams unfulfilled but
it is a calamity not to dream. It is not a disaster
to be unable to capture your ideal, but it is
a disaster to have no ideal to capture. It is
not a disgrace not to reach the stars, but it
is a disgrace to have no stars to reach for.
It is not failure---but low aim that is a sin”
